Help Needed—Provide A Meal
Thank you for your interest in supporting Habitat by providing lunches for our volunteer work crews. Our volunteers build houses on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Local churches, businesses, service organizations, and Boy and Girl Scout Troops are just a few who donate meals for our willing workers. Whether it is once a month, once a quarter, once a year, or one time only, each donation is greatly appreciated and is used to help continue our mission as a member of Habitat for Humanity International. Every donation is tax deductible and helps our Christian based, nonprofit organization build homes for people in need. We will provide our tax identification number for your donation record at your request. In addition, we are always looking for more volunteers to serve on various committees, prepare lunches for those folks who help build our homes, participate in construction of houses, and work at or donate household items to our ReStore (336-672-1555) in Asheboro. Please help us by passing this information along to your friends, church and business contacts! Please call one of the numbers below or our Liberty volunteer, Connie Bullins, to schedule your meal donations. Her phone number in Liberty is 336-622-3481 or 336-202-5333
Thank you again for your generosity.
Local Volunteers Step Up To Help At Habitat House
If you have note noticed on South Fayetteville Street in Liberty, just past the Town Hall / Public Library, there is a lot of activity buzzing around the new home construction. That home would teh be 21st home for Habitat For Humanity in Randolph County, but the first for Liberty area. How exciting it is to see all the local community to come together to provide this housing project for a local family. "Starting on Wednesday, March 26, 8:30am, several tasks are at hand: roofing, re-roughing some window openings (fixing a error), building a deck, and hopefully (if supplies arrive) foaming the exterior. We will even have some rough-in electrical work if someone really wants to do that. Rick Paul will be your supervisor for this Wednesday and Claire and I will be there as well. If you would like to be part of this great project just let us know. We are so grateful for everyones efforts. See you there." stated Rodney, of Habitat For Humanity of Randolph County. There was a crew of at least six workers at the Liberty site at 8:30 this Wednesday March 26. Some of the workers were, Gary Davis, from First Baptist, along with an expert framer/all around carpenter and another hand will be there along with at least four Methodists. We understand that this 2nd. and 4th. Wednesday will be an ongoing commitment and have made plans accordingly. Other volunteers were , members from First Methodist include: Anthony Mills , Ken Fogleman , Bob Fell , Chuck Brace , Pam Daniels , Steve Johnson , Nick Coco , and Tom Meacham. Not all our people will be there each work Wednesday....but all have indicated they can and will work some of the Wednesdays....Why not put your name on the list of others that will be volunteering to be part of the building team. If construction and hands on building is not your talent, but you want to be part of this first house in Liberty, there are numerous other opportunities. In the story below, you can volunteer to provide meals for the workers. Feel free to contact the Habitat For Humanity of Randolhp County and see where you can fit in. You can reach them at 625-1429. Give them a call.
